While we specialise in mobile app development we also build the services a mobile app requires in order to function, from developing REST APIs to building the tools customers need to manage their app.

We’re a small tight-knit team who are passionate about technology and helping our clients utilise the latest technologies to help grow and improve their businesses.

Due to the ongoing situation with Covid our team is currently fully remote however we understand the importance of in person collaboration and do plan to have an office within central Bristol as and when we feel it would be safe and appropriate to do so. In the meantime we keep in regular contact through daily video calls and Slack.

The Role

As an Android developer you will work as part of our core development team to build and maintain native Android apps for our clients. We work on a variety of projects from commerce apps to apps to help organisations with their business operations.

As an early member of our team you will have the opportunity to shape this role and to help us improve our development processes to ensure we’re able to consistently deliver world- class Android applications. You’ll work closely with the projects designers to ensure transition from design to app is a smooth process.

This role is full time for a fixed term of 3 months however, there will be the opportunity to extend based on the success of the work carried out in these initial 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Develop native Android applications on behalf of our clients

• Maintain clients existing Android apps and, where possible, improve these apps

• Translate designs into fully functioning apps

• Work closely with project manager to provide accurate time estimates for new work

• Help ensure high code standards are met within all our Android apps

• Provide regular status updates to colleagues working on other elements of the same projects

Requirements

• Proven experience developing native Android applications (Java/Kotlin and Android Studio)

• Experience integrating Android apps with third party REST APIs

• Strong understanding of Android interface development

• Experience with native iOS development (Swift/Objective-C) would be good but not essential

• You will need to be able to organise your own time and workload in order to meet deadlines

• Strong communication skills are essential as you'll be part of small and remote team
