About Zero Deposit

Moving into a new rental property is expensive - The security deposit can cost up to five weeks rent and often tenants have to find their next deposit before getting their last one back.

We're changing that by giving tenants an alternative.

With us, tenants have the option to pay one week’s rent, instead of a security deposit, while providing landlords with the same security as a six-week deposit.

We have big ambitions and are well funded to deliver on these.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Wants to take ownership of product areas, isn’t afraid to get stuck into the detail and ask questions to understand how and why we’ve built our product

  • Is eager to learn by using their initiative in a fast-paced but supportive environment

  • Can balance pragmatism and quality, so that we can learn quickly without compromising the standards of our product

  • Is able to make the tough decisions required to manage competing priorities and knows when to push back

  • Has strong communication skills to maintain alignment within our team and keep our company and users updated on product changes

  • Can help drive our test and learn culture by refining a problem down to the smallest piece of work that we can do to learn and iterating based on the results

Day to day you will:

  • Clearly define what needs to be built by writing user stories and acceptance criteria

  • Coordinate with development and design during sprints to answer questions, clarify scope and align everyone on expected outcomes

  • Work with the development team to identify and prioritise a resolution to bugs that are reported by our users (internal & external)

  • Act as a point of contact for the wider business on areas of the product that you have a deep understanding of when day-to-day issues and opportunities arise

  • Maintain the quality of our product by ensuring that every new feature is thoroughly tested before it is released - either by you or another member of the team

  • Ensure our team and company are aligned on what’s being released by communicating product changes when they happen

Weekly you will:

  • Work with the wider company to analyse existing problems or new opportunities and define the requirements if we decide to tackle these

  • Plan and prioritise upcoming sprints in our product backlog

  • Collaborate with our product designer to craft a great customer experience for our users and ensure that what we will build aligns with what we’re looking to achieve

  • Validate if what we’re building has had an impact through A/B testing, conducting user interviews, analytics and working with our Data Analyst

  • Update our help articles when we release new features so that our users can be successful when using our products

Monthly you will:

  • Contribute to building our product roadmap by advocating for areas that could be improved or opportunities that could be tackled and defining what success would look like

  • Help shape our growth by identifying any gaps we have in the team and suggesting ways to refine how we work as a team

  • Track the product metrics that you have an impact on

  • Expand the analytics and tracking that we have in place to ensure that we’re able to track success

  • Get involved in researching and defining the opportunity associated with new products
