Who are we and what do we do?

Buying your own home should be one of the most exciting times of your life. For too long, it’s been overshadowed by the process of getting a mortgage, but we’re working to change that. At Trussle, we’re using data, design, and technology to solve the mortgage problem once and for all. Trussle was borne out of our founder’s frustration with the mortgage industry first-hand. Tired of lengthy meetings, paperwork, and mortgage-jargon, we’ve taken the outdated traditional broker model and brought it online – cutting out the hassle. Customers apply online, then our algorithm does the rest. With investment of £4.5m from leading FinTech investors, key partnerships in place with players such as Zoopla and an excellent customer rating on Trustpilot, we are well placed to continue our rapid growth.

The role

When we launched Trussle, one of the first areas of investment was PR because of its ability to build credibility, reputation and trust. We have achieved a fantastic profile in a short period of time, and the coverage we’ve received has had a material impact on our growth. As such, we value PR tremendously and plan to continue to invest time and budget to build on the strong foundation created in the last two years. We are now looking for an experienced, passionate and creative communications manager who can take the plan to the next level. We have bags of ambition and loads of ideas, but need someone with the confidence, creativity and know-how to bring this to life. We also have a new brand and new values, which epitomise Trussle and which we want our corporate, industry and consumer audiences to embrace and understand. The role is best-suited to someone who loves to turn strategies into compelling stories, has a passion for the media landscape (and a great network), and understands how to build campaigns which connect with the consumer. Ideally you would also be intellectually curious about data and the role it plays in modern-day communications. Consumer experience and a track record of delivering stand-out, high impact campaigns would be a huge advantage as we develop our plans for this year.

You’ll make an impact by:

· Creating meaningful stories that resonate with our key corporate, industry and consumer stakeholder groups, to build awareness of Trussle as the ‘home of home ownership’ ·Delivering campaigns that have a clear call to action to drive leads / acquisition in line with our business goals · Growing our network of media watchers and running a proactive, data-driven press office ·Engaging our influencer community and embedding them in everything we do to add credibility and creativity to our campaigns · Protecting and amplifying the brand at all times and delivering programmes that exemplify our values - free-thinking, welcoming and tenacious Expanding our coverage and influence, especially in the consumer and broadcast media ·Bringing new ideas to the team that help us stand out for what we say and the way we say it ·Using your leadership skill to get the best out of all the available resources, and collectively delivering to the communications KPIs

You’ll be a crucial part of the team because:

·You have 6-7 years of agency or in-house experience, ideally with a strong consumer focus ·You’re an exceptional storyteller, writer and communicator, and have built a reputation for showing the value of PR to a fast-growing business (or businesses) ·You absolutely love the media and are restless to find the next big story we can share ·You balance strategic smarts with a hands-on approach to make great things happen on a daily basis ·You are all about the team and shared success ·You see the bigger picture at all times, but understand the role you play in the broader business strategy ·You’re able to bring our stories to life in a way that excites and inspires our internal team as well as external audiences ·You love a challenge and have bags of ideas for how we continue to punch above our weight and take our comms to the next level, so we continue to stand out ·You (also) love a good integrated campaign which pulls together marketing, brand and comms thinking into one epic plan ·You are proactive, confident and great fun to work with – you are super creative and thoughtful in any company brainstorm regardless of the subject matter

Salary range £40,000 — 50,000
