Code Kingdoms is one of Roblox's education partners. We've been teaching new developers to build games online for over 5 years and within the past few years have shifted entirely to Roblox. The goal of our latest project, Code Kingdoms Studio+, is to create a generation of new Roblox developers with our online platform to teach programming, visual design, game design and game production.
Roblox is a global platform where millions of players create, share and play games together. Every game on the platform has been created by members of the Roblox community using Roblox Studio. In August 2019, Roblox hit 100 million monthly active users, and is continuing to grow fast.
As a Content Writer, you will be instrumental in contributing your writing skills to the various strands of content we produce across the CK Studio+ platform and beyond. In particular, you will be responsible for scripting our class-leading narrated video courses. We want these videos, and the tools we've built within Roblox Studio, to be the default for aspirational Roblox players. Turning them into successful creators will help realise the vision of making Roblox the ultimate gaming platform and a worldwide force for educational progress.
The company has raised over $3 million in venture capital and worked with Roblox, Minecraft, and the BBC.
You can try CK Studio+ out for yourself here.
You will be a Content Writer working full time on our CK Studio+ platform from our office in London.
Scripting - Our courses start with a step-by-step outline, detailing all the actions and concepts to be covered in the video and guide. You will turn these course outlines into engaging, fun scripts for our narrated video courses.
Production - In collaboration with the rest of the content team, you will support turning your course scripts into fully-fledged video courses, through managing the requirements of many of the assets required to bring them to life, from voiceover to animations.
Brand - You will be responsible for matching brand tone of voice throughout our content, and will support other areas of the product in keeping up with standards both in terms of quality and tone.
Community - You will manage our community-facing content output through social media posts and interactions, and through other creative ventures with key figures in the Roblox community.
Team support - You will put your writing skills to use in a range of supporting contexts, from website copy to assisting with written guides where necessary.
Writing skills - You have solid experience writing content in a professional context, preferably in a technical capacity. You are confident adapting your writing style to suit audience and to match brand tone, with exceptional attention to detail.
Technical fluency - You are comfortable with technology, highly computer literate, and quick to learn the gist of new software and concepts.
Team experience - You should enjoy working collaboratively with like-minded colleagues - the content team works very closely together and our work often overlaps.
Drive - You are passionate about games and education and are motivated to equip the next generation of Roblox developers with the skills they need to succeed.
Adaptability - You are eager to help wherever your skills are best suited in unfamiliar situations.
Audience - You might have experience working on consumer or educational products aimed at a universal audience, in both age and locale.
Programming - You might have some experience programming, and may be familiar with some programming concepts that will be used in our courses.
Roblox - You might be familiar with Roblox as a game engine, and may even know how to use Roblox Studio.
Video/presenting - You may have experience appearing in video/audio work, and would be comfortable presenting content created with developers in the community.
Community/social media - You might have some previous experience working with social media and messaging forums in a professional capacity, or creating content to be used on those channels.
Your personal development goals are as important as our business ones. You'll take responsibility for key projects and, ultimately, help shape a growing company. We balance focus and dedication with an informal working environment and relaxed holiday policy.
