KidsKnowBest is a Creative Agency, driven by insights, powered by kids. We specialise in market research, content creation and marketing with clients including Disney, Universal, Mattel, Warner Bros, and many others. Culture is engrained in everything we do.

Data sits at the heart of everything we do and we are looking for a role that bridges all four departments:

Product Data capture tools and analytics platform
Research Qualitative and quantitative
Creative Making digital marketing content for brands
Placement Media buying

We believe that by giving kids a voice, and using data in a responsible and useful way, kids content, toys, platform and experiences will become increasingly engaging and relevant to them. The objective of this role is to put data and the voice of the child at the centre of all decisions that we make and how we advise brands

As part of this we are building a data platform - Nougat. This will ethically capture information from multiple sources. This role will be to:

Advise on what data sources we collect from, and how
Standardise data into a repository
Create a way to extract information for other departments to use

Responsibilities ...

1. Data collection

a. Use advanced computerised models to extract the data needed

b. Liaise with internal and external clients to fully understand data content

c. Gather, understand and document detailed business requirements using appropriate tools and techniques

i. Build a data collection strategy

d. Work with the research team to design and carry out surveys (and other research methods) and analyse survey data

e. Work with the product team to advise on data collection within proprietary products and extract data

f. Lead relationships with 3 rd party data suppliers and extract related data

g. Manipulate, analyse and interpret complex data sets relating to the business

h. Identify areas to increase efficiency and automation of processes

2. Data storage

a. Develop records management processes and policies

i. With the consideration of GDPR and COPPA compliance. We aim to be the gold standard of ethical data collection and usage, so where possible we should go beyond compliance and be a thought leader in this space. You will support on this wider objective

b. Identify areas to increase efficiency and automation of processes

c. Set up and maintain automated data processes

d. Identify, evaluate and implement 3 rd party services and tools to support data validation and cleansing

e. Monitor and audit data quality

f. Standardise across datasets so that we can cross-analyse e.g. survey data and

product data

3. Data application

a. Mine and analyse large datasets, draw valid inferences and present them successfully to management using a reporting tool.

b. Produce and track key performance indicators

c. Develop and support reporting processes across the research department

d. Prepare reports for internal and external audiences using business analytics reporting tools

i. Including data dashboards, graphs and visualisations

e. Work with the research team to:

i. Provide sector and competitor benchmarking

ii. Create trending reports that allow us and our clients to remain aware of

audience behaviours, preferences and emerging trends

f. Identify areas to increase efficiency and automation of processes

You must have ...

  • At least two years of experience working in a related capacity ideally with a digital media company
  • Expert-level knowledge of common data analytics tools such as Excel, R, Tableau, Power BI etc
  • Strong knowledge of database query languages (e.g. SQL)
  • Strong knowledge of data gathering and manipulation tools such as Numpy, Scapy etc
  • The ability to build a centralised database
  • A calm and considered way of working, able to switch between different types of tasks in a busy and demanding environment
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • A degree or masters in a relevant subject such as computer science, business analytics, data science, data analytics or variants of mathematics or physics

Demonstrable experience of collaborating with technical, research and creative teams
Given the central position of the role, you will be expected to either be able to or mature into managing your own deadlines, with support from department heads
