We’re on the hunt for a talented mobile engineer to work on an exciting (and seriously ambitious!) new urban mobility project led by the founders of Beryl. Working with some of the largest urban transportation organisations in the world, we are combining our expertise in creating innovative hardware with our vision to change the way people move around cities. We’re building a new team to lead the development of mobile and web products that will be used by cyclists, transport providers and fleet operators.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Developing innovative new concepts and ideas into fantastic future hardware products
  • Implementation of test software for automated board level tests and provisioning on and off the production line
  • Supporting development of cutting edge new device firmware features
  • Oversight of projects developed by our network of external contractors
  • Preparing, progressing and completing some certification for the product

About you

  • At least 3 years industry experience, preferably on a small, fast moving team
  • A degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering or Computer Science (or related field) or equivalent industry experience - Experience designing embedded hardware to meet cost, DFM and technical requirements
  • Excited to get down and dirty with prototyping and testing the latest hardware
  • Experience with board level hardware debugging and board bring-up include use of lab test equipment
  • Comfortable performing schematic capture and PCB design of a new design (bonus points for Altium Designer / Circuit Studio experience)
  • Firmware development experience using C / C++
  • Proven experience developing with Python (or similar scripting language)
  • Comfortable using embedded protocols such as SPI, I2C or a UART

Strongly Advantageous

  • Exposure the product certification process
  • Comfortable in a Linux environment
  • Experience working on products that have been put into production and shipped at scale
  • Experience with IoT protocols such as BLE, GSM or NB-IoT and devices that operate in the micro-amp range.
