Frontend Developer at Trint

Our latest front-end developer helping build cutting-edge innovations for our world-leading automated transcription platform

You’ll be expected to:

  • Lead implementation details from a Frontend perspective. Working as part of the development team, design and UX ensuring the quality bar is kept high.

  • Form best practice approaches to styleguide driven development, directory structures, build process (webpack), component hierarchy, SCSS and data management.

  • Help guide team members, providing constructive criticism and suggestions through code reviews, Slack or on video calls.

  • Help develop processes and maintain tools and libraries across the Frontend repos in conjunction with the development team.

You will work with:

  • HTML, CSS (SASS) JavaScript (ES5, ES6, ES7) and some TypeScript

  • React, Redux, Apollo and GraphQL

  • Web media technologies

  • Our monorepo is managed and built with lerna and webpack

  • Agile development practices (Scrum, TDD, pair programming, CI/CD)

  • GitHub and Slack for collaboration and communication

You must have:

  • Three or more years industry experience coding performant, public facing web projects with at least some design studio or agency experience.

  • Expert knowledge of React, SPA Routing, Webpack, BEM and bundle optimization.

  • Expert knowledge of JavaScript in the browser, including common tools and approaches.

  • Experience choosing and evaluating different frameworks and approaches, with a good idea of the pros and cons of such decisions.

  • Experience working in a cross-disciplinary environment, collaborating with other practitioners to deliver the best end result.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ideally you’ll also:

  • Have a presence online, on awards sites or be willing to demo your work.

  • Have experience in leading features, mentoring and working with other developers.

  • Be comfortable talking to project stakeholders and clients who may not be technical.

  • Have a good working knowledge of at least one server-side technology, preferably Node.

  • Have some experience working with teams including remote workers, with ideas on how to get the best from this scenario.

  • Be comfortable talking through your work and explaining your decisions.

  • Knowledge of D3, complex SVG builds or canvas based projects would be a bonus.
