Working on the Strategic Product team, you will be thinking about how to improve the product for all users, both the drivers using mobile app but also our energy partners and internal users. You might be working on stability problems to help us serve a growing customer base, or you may be implementing new product features such as matching end-users charging to renewable generation. The role will be varied and driven by a customer-focused product development process.
As an Engineer you should be able to work with your teammates across engineering and other disciplines to plan and implement the technical side of features. You should be driven to keep learning and developing your skills and have a strong understanding of where you need to develop your skills.ev.energy
ev.energy enables consumers to charge their EVs in the most cost-effective and least carbon-intense way possible, whilst saving them money! We partner with energy companies such as Igloo Energy, Rolec Services and ESB to deliver tariffs and products which integrate smartly with electric vehicles and their chargers.
We’re a small and agile team, but we already serve electricity companies and their customers across the world with pilots ongoing in Europe and North America.
Since we were incorporated two years ago, we’ve grown from 0 to 12500+ users, raised a funding round, collaborated with 15+ energy companies and saved over 25 tonnes of CO2. We were part of Microsoft’s first AI for Good cohort, won the EDF Pulse Innovation Challenge and were named “Best Energy Startup in the World” by Free Electrons 2019.Our goals are:
Scale to 1 million users in the next 3 years!
Launch in five new markets worldwide, including non-English speaking markets and non-EU timezones
Make our app work for users across different geographies, with various vehicles, charger manufacturers, and energy suppliers
Deliver new charging services (like charging on public charging networks and giving users more flexibility in how they charge)
Improve our data and analytics offering for our Utility partners so they can better understand how smart charging stabilises their grids and reduces their costs
Worked with a similar technology stack of React JS, React Native and flow or typescript for multiple years;
Strong written communication skills, as a remote team written skills are highly valued;
Can communicate effectively to people with a range of job roles and backgrounds;
A desire to help mentor and share their skills with other engineers;
A keen interest in our product and industry.

- Salary: £47,500 + equity
- In the UK we are offering Personal Medical Insurance and Life Insurance.
