Berytus is a London based (remote for now) early-stage start-up that has recently won a Grant through the Innovate UK Sustainable Innovation Fund. The project is to enable optimization and beta-testing, building upon the expertise and know-how within our team.
We’re looking for a skilled Full Stack Developer to join our exciting and highly ambitious e-commerce startup; a candidate who has a strong development background, with the ability to work on a project and provide solutions. The successful candidate will be part of a small, core team that is responsible for the full software maintenance and project development from conception through to deployment. This is a role which will be challenging and rewarding in equal measure, while providing high levels of autonomy during an incredibly exciting phase of growth.
What you can expect to work on
Designing and implementation of scalable and performant applications.
Developing new app features.
Build and integration of responsive user-facing elements with server side logic.
Integration of data storage solutions.
Improving our build, testing and deployment processes.
Fixing bugs, improving app performance etc.
Collaborating with our CTO on the engineering side of our product roadmap, helping to define requirements and come up with creative solutions to business problems.
Take part in reviewing and optimising the team's processes to ensure we're working at our best.
The ideal candidate will:
Offer advice on development principles, priorities, architecture and technology approach to the development of the project.
Be highly motivated, driven and adaptable.
Be passionate about learning.
Have an excellent grasp of clean code and software patterns.
Build features and applications with a mobile responsive design.
Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade software.
Have experience with maintaining production applications.
Understand Agile methodologies, for example Scrum.
Be comfortable around both front-end and back-end coding languages, development frameworks and third-party libraries.
3+ years of commercial experience.
Experience working with Git and following best practice.
Familiarity with SQL/Non-SQL databases (e.g., MySQL, MongoDB).
Familiarity with modern front-end build pipelines and tools.
Confident in writing performant code.
Strong understanding of security practices.
Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
This is fully remote but the candidate needs to be UK based and need to have the right to work in the UK.
Experience in the following is beneficial:
Familiarity with UI/UX design
Cloud experience (e.g., Azure, AWS)
£50,000 - £75,000 salary, depending on experience.
