About Tailwise

Tailwise is a small but mighty team of passionate entrepreneurs and product-minded people working hard to radically change the way people buy, manage and care for their pets.

Our platform matches new dog owners with the most suitable breeds and connects them with responsible verified breeders and rehoming organisations. That's just the start of our plans. We’re using technology, thoughtful product design and education to put an end to unethical breeding practices, improving animal welfare and revolutionising a huge archaic industry.

We are a tech-driven company with the aim of putting Tailwise in the hands of every pet owner, breeder and pet service in the UK and we have the view to scale quickly to international markets.

If you love our canine friends and building great products, this is an exciting opportunity to get in on the ground floor and solidify yourself as one of the key members of a fast-growing, values-driven business.

We've recently been featured in the press including the Evening Standard, BBC, UK Tech News, Sunday Mirror and The Next Web.

About this role

You are an experienced, dog loving engineer and want to join a small but fast-growing team to solve big problems and do good for the world. You will be our first full-time developer so the opportunity for ownership, autonomy and growth within the company is huge.

As a lead developer, you will play a big role in the key development of Tailwise. Working with our two remote developers, you will build a robust, fast and engaging product with a clean and flexible codebase all while helping shape the future of our growing tech team.

Join us in our Shoreditch dog house (office) as we build the best, most diverse tech team in London.

Tech Stack

Our stack is very flexible as we're aiming to build a tech agnostic team. However, our gritty launch product uses Ruby on Rails with a basic HTML/SCSS front end, running Jenkins and Google App Engine on GCS. This would be an exciting opportunity for you to make key stack decisions.
