Requirements

  • We’re open-minded to background (no degree required), but we are looking for someone exceptional
  • You’re comfortable using multiple programming languages
  • You have 1-8 years of experience programming in a production environment
  • You’re a strong communicator capable of justifying decisions, proposing new ideas and challenging the status quo
  • You have some front-end experience with JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue, Angular etc.)
  • (Desirable) You appreciate good design (UI/UX)

What the job involves

  • You’ll be employee #1 and will work directly with the founders to translate product vision into impact as fast as possible
  • Build features from start to finish: plan, build, test, deploy, iterate
  • Own code across our stack, from backend services in Elixir (with GraphQL + Postgres) to front-end single-page apps in React/TypeScript
  • Deploy on a daily basis. We use GitHub and continuously deploy to a Kubernetes cluster hosted on Google Cloud Platform
  • Get stuck in and solve exciting problems: from scaling to 100,000s of jobs, to launching in cities across the world

Additional info about the role

  • You’ll be our first employee, and we expect to hire 2-3 more engineers over the next 12-18 months
  • We’re currently closing a funding round with some of the most exciting early stage investors in London and will be scaling fast over the next year
  • We’re on a mission to help people discover the most relevant roles. We use machine learning to provide Netflix-style recommendations
