The Role
Harper is experiencing an exciting growth phase and is seeking an experienced, hands on, Head of Engineering to lead the development team on the technical delivery and roadmap. Harper’s core technology platform aims to integrate seamlessly with various ecommerce, ERP, CRM, WMS and IMS systems while our management and analytics platform creates an efficient workflow among all stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Develop solutions to meet business needs that reflect a clear understanding of the business objectives.
Lead the development team in the outlining of the technical / architectural approach and delivery of new internal features and partner integrations.
Work with the product team to find ways to integrate into differing ecommerce landscapes, making the partnership handsfree for Harper’s partners.
Own the systems architecture, implementation processes and documentation.
Build and lead a multidisciplinary team of developers, devops engineers and QA engineers.
Ensure that good engineering practices are followed and that systems are built with reliability, maintainability and scalability in mind.
Be responsible for your team’s delivery, with a focus on iterative development utilising a data driven, fast feedback loop.
The Ideal Candidate is…
Experienced in cloud platforms, distributed data management, highly scalable application development and infrastructure, with the ability to identify and deep-dive with teams as required.
Experienced with NodeJS and Javascript frontend frameworks, NoSQL databases and AWS. (Go/Python are nice to haves)
Experienced in ecommerce platforms, preferably with Salesforce.
Motivated, hardworking and passionate about working in a startup.
An excellent communicator and team lead.
Hands on with a willingness to work across various technologies and frameworks.
Knows where to obtain information needed to make the appropriate decisions.
Breaks a problem down to manageable pieces and implements effective, timely solutions.
Is very good at identifying the problem versus the symptom.
Demonstrates sound analytical and diagnostic skills dealing with issues that are not readily defined and/or conflict with available information.
Pragmatic and have a “getting things done” approach to delivery.
