Makers Academy is growing at a phenomenal rate and we need your help to seek out, curate, create and share amazing content.

We’re expanding and updating our products and, as such, our brand. You’ll be creating and sharing stories, videos and ideas that have the potential to spark a movement and genuinely change the way people learn, work and recruit in tech.

Surrounded by inspiring and amazing people, you’ll be capturing their stories and sharing them with the world. You’ll be working with experienced writers and marketers, learning from them every day. The content you curate, create and share will inspire more people to study with us and more employers to hire those people.

You’ll quickly grow to take on more responsibility and ownership, for things like our social content schedule and blogging guidelines, and help our alumni, student and employer communities to get the most out of Makers Academy.

You’ll have complete freedom to act in a way that you believe is right for the company. You’ll have a genuine say in the way the business is run, and the environment in which you work. You’ll be encouraged to identify problems and solve them; and to seek out new opportunities and pursue them. In short, you'll have a voice that will be heard and valued.

Success in this role looks like:

  • Curating content for and then producing two newsletters a week, one for each of our audiences;

  • Writing at least two blog posts a week;

  • Learning new things all the time, and perhaps teaching us a thing or two; and

  • Supporting the marketing team to achieve their objective of attracting more people to study with us and more employers to hire them.

What you you’ll be doing day to day:

  • Planning and scheduling of the content we’re going to share, six weeks in advance;

  • Evaluation and repurposing of content you’ve discovered;

  • Planning, creating and sending out our newsletters;

  • Writing blogs;

  • Owning company news announcements and liaising with our external PR;

  • Creating and maintaining a set of blogging guidelines that will ensure consistency across all blog content.

What you can expect to have achieved in your first three months:

  • Completed the automation of our social content schedule;

  • Captured the stories of everyone who studies here and made that process simple and repeatable;

  • Generated automatic weekly and monthly analyses of how our social posts perform;

  • Created a strong body of content for each cohort of students.


  • Working in a company that’s exploring how alternative management systems can help us achieve our mission;

  • Growing as a person, by learning radical transparency, vulnerability, the growth mindset, emotional intelligence, 'non-violent communication', perhaps some hard truths about yourself, and how to give and receive feedback honestly and productively;

  • Able to join yoga and meditation sessions run for the students (click to read more);

  • Being surrounded by a diverse group of bright, motivated people, who all really care about doing the very best they can for our students, for our hiring partners and for each other.


  • Location: Our academy in Spitalfields, London.

  • Salary: We’ll make a negotiable offer, depending on previous (relevant) experience. After you’ve passed your probation, you'll be encouraged to set your own salary.

  • Hours: You choose.

  • Holiday: Unlimited, paid.

  • Management: Makers Academy is a company built on trust, rather than fear: you’re trusted to make good decisions on behalf of the business (which includes how, when and where you work).
