We are GetAgent. A disruptor in the property tech space and leading estate agency comparison site. We are looking for a Junior Developer who is motivated by growth and working within a dynamic startup.

Through transparency and data, our aim is to provide a straightforward and pain-free solution to the most stressful process a homeowner can undergo, selling their property.

We ingest millions of property listings each year to create an objective measure of estate agent performance. Using our unique data, home sellers sell quicker and for more money. And we’re on a mission to make home selling even easier in the future through the roll-out of our Home Moving Platform and re-design of the site.

We’ve spent the last few months migrating the public-facing site over to Next JS, which we love! This is powered by a Rest API (Koa/NodeJS) with data stored in MySQL.

In addition to the public-facing site, we’ve built a custom CRM (React, NodeJS) which powers the business and most of the team use all day, every day. The system has integrations with telephony providers, payments systems and accountancy software. We’re always looking for ways to make the business more efficient through tech enhancements (and your ideas are actively encouraged).

All this was built with a small but driven tech team of the CTO, 3 developers and a designer.

In 2020 we grew 2x - despite the impact of coronavirus - and we plan to do the same in 2021! We know working from home and in isolation can be a lonely place, so have evolved and adapted to the current situation by helping all of our staff to find fresh and dynamic ways to reach our goals, stay focused and to continue to self develop.

What you’ll do

As a member of the Tech Team, you’ll work alongside the CTO and Lead Developer. The majority of your day will be working on improving and adding new features to our existing products. 

As we venture into new products you’ll have the opportunity to dive in however you see fit and lead the process from idea generation and goal setting all the way to measuring the impact of your work.

What we need from you

Intelligence – You don’t have to be Einstein, but we’re looking for someone with the ability to successfully assess a situation and problem solve.

Passion for tech - We’re looking for someone who enjoys learning new technologies and would probably be coding in their spare time if they weren’t being paid for it.

Personality - We’re looking for someone who has the innate ability to spark and maintain meaningful conversations with your colleagues.

Essential:

  • Good professional Javascript coding experience

  • Front-end technical skills (CSS, SASS/SCSS) and great attention for detail.

  • Some back-end experience (ideally Node JS, but PHP/Ruby/Python ok too)

  • Working Knowledge of SQL databases

  • Fluent English

Nice to have but not essential:

  • Experience working in a Start-Up

  • Worked on a consumer-facing product

  • Interest in the property market

  • Node JS experience

  • Worked with some of our Stack - Koa, Bookshelf, Knex, React, Next JS

  • Experience working with APIs (bonus points for Twilio, Plivo and/or Stripe)
