We Make Websites are the go-to agency for Shopify Plus. We design, develop and optimise e-commerce websites for some of the fastest growing brands on the planet. What we're looking for:

We are looking for a talented and dynamic Marketing Lead to join our Growth Team. Our Growth Team is responsible for our positioning, funnel strategy/execution, lead generation and sales revenue.

The ideal candidate will have come from an e-commerce, SaaS technology or web agency background.They will have strong B2B experience, with 3-5 years in marketing, events and social media.

The Marketing Lead will report into our Head of Growth and Solutions and be responsible for managing two direct reports within our Growth Team. The goal will be to deliver the current 2018 Growth Plan and create and execute the Growth Plan for 2019 and beyond.


What you’ll need:

  • You will have a proven track record creating and executing a Marketing/Growth Plan, including P&L responsibility.

  • You will have a proven track record of managing people and be able to demonstrate how you will bring this learning in order to nurture and grow a high performing team.

  • You will have technical SEO experience, bonus points if you can demonstrate how you’ve created and managed PPC/Adwords campaigns.

  • You will be comfortable analysing results from Google Analytics in order to make decisions.

  • You will have lead generating experience using ESPs such as Mailchimp or Dotmailer.

  • You will have thorough experience conceptualising and managing events (we run a quarterly Meetup, Shopify Plus dinners/events and exhibit at conferences like M20/20 and Ecommerce Expo)

  • You have a sound knowledge of social platforms (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn).

  • You will have an in depth knowledge and experience of the e-commerce and/or SaaS space.

  • You will be passionate about all things tech, digital, design and e-commerce.

  • You will possess unparalleled levels of attention to detail, bordering on fastidious.

  • You will be totally OK with the concept of change and working in a fast paced environment.

What you'll be doing:

  • Take on and lead the current Growth Plan for both our London and New York offices.

  • Create and execute a Growth Plan for 2019 and beyond.

  • Manage the delivery of all lead attraction/awareness channels - SEO, website, PPC, social, PR, email marketing etc.

  • Grow qualified enquiries by converting site traffic through calls-to-action, landing pages and lead generating content.

  • Motivate, engage and lead the marketing arm of our Growth Team (Social Coordinator and Content Writer) to create a high performance culture.

  • Create, monitor and report on the KPIs of the marketing arm of the Growth Team.

  • Create, forecast and manage medium and long term marketing budgets.

  • Work alongside other department Leads (Solutions Lead, Design/UX Lead and Tech Lead) to identify our expertise and use it as a business generating tool (content, events, thought leadership etc).

  • Continue to develop and enhance the position of We Make Websites in the e-commerce landscape, both domestically and internationally, through the development of new marketing initiatives.

  • Work with our strategic partners to create and execute positioning and lead generating initiatives.

  • Develop and communicate an ongoing understanding and awareness of competitor activity to identify market gaps and opportunities for current or new services.

  • Overall responsibility for the delivery of all events.

  • Become the voice of We Make Websites (internal and external) along with the other members of the Growth Team (e.g speaking engagements).


Bonus points if you have:

  • Experience with Shopify or a similar e-commerce platform (Magento, Demandware, Hybris).

  • Have come from a startup or SME that has experienced extremely high growth over a short period.

  • Agency experience.
