At Solid State we remember the Roundabout before it was Silicon. When we moved into our Old Street office, there were only a handful of tech startups in the neighbourhood – and 14 years later, we’re still going strong.

We’ve seen hype cycles go full circle and dotcom bubbles burst. We’ve seen the latest tech become legacy tech. And we remain at the heart of it all, working with startups and corporations alike, swiftly creating and transforming systems that are built to last.

We don’t get carried away by the latest tech trends, but our engineers know a good idea when they see one. (They’ve come up with a few of their own too.) About the role

We’ve been so busy working on projects for clients over the years that we’ve never really focussed on marketing, but now that’s changing.

We have the fundamentals in place to put marketing at the heart of our business and are looking for the right person to make this happen.

This is an exciting new role with a lot of responsibility and a chance to really shape how we communicate. It’s new to us but we’re really up for trying things and learning what works, and seeing the results grow the business.

Specifically we need someone who can:

  • Work with and evolve our marketing plans.

  • Curate content by creating an editorial plan, encouraging the team to write and writing or recording content yourself.

  • Grow our audience and help convert this into new business opportunities.

  • Plan and execute events.

  • Measure, evaluate and report.

How do you know if you are right for the job?

  • You’re a natural story teller - you understand how to build a brand and communicate using a mix of channels from social media, to blogs, events and other tactics.

  • You enjoy the freedom to create, and can bring others along with you so they understand the power of marketing and how they can support you.

  • You have a passion for tech - you don’t have to be a developer, but you are excited by innovation and know what makes developers tick.

  • You’ll be creating a lot of content so spoken and written English need to be of a high standard
