Combo Studio are looking for a Unity developer to join on a 3 month contract (with potential for full-time) starting in January 2018. The role would involve joining our small team of 4 in Shoreditch, London to work on a range of augmented reality games and experiences for mobile.

In September we shipped one of the most popular, and unique ARKit games to the App Store, Pigeon Panic - an augmented reality pigeon scaring game. This should hopefully help sum us up as a company, we are into ridiculous but well executed products! We are quite literally immersing ourselves into the untapped world of mobile AR since Apple/Google’s announcements of their respective platforms earlier in the year.

The role would involve working alongside designers and other developers to help come up with and implement innovative new ways to interact in AR on mobile devices. We produce a mix of our own internal projects alongside client led work in the same field.

We work from an incredible shared space in the Tea Building, next to Shoreditch High St. We are hosted by award winning studio ‘ustwo’, sitting alongside some incredibly talented designers, developers and start-ups - backed by the studio. It’s an incredible community to be a part of and certainly a great perk of the job!

Requirements

  • Proficient in writing high quality C#

  • Have shipped at least 2-3 games/experiences in Unity

  • Good understanding of 3D and 2D canvases

  • Experience of implementing UI elements and layouts in Unity

  • Experience working collaboratively alongside other developers, artists and designers

  • Excellent communication skills to present rationale behind development choices

  • Ability to quickly prototype and make decisions that lead to the optimal production path


Nice to have

  • Experience working in AR/VR

  • Experience building in ARKit/Core

  • Experience with a range of game styles

  • Understanding of mobile UI/Design patterns

  • Good visual designs skills

  • Experience producing 3D assets in packages such as Blender/C4D/Maya

  • Ability to pass on Unity knowledge on Junior developers and explain approaches clearly

  • Experience writing plugins for Unity
