ILoveGin.com is part Subscription/Ecommerce Startup, and part Digital Marketing Agency.
We run a monthly G&T tasting club to help people discover their new favourite Gins and Mixers, as well as an online gin shop, blog, and a huge social media community.
We also help gin and mixer brands find their ideal target customers, and gain a huge boost to brand awareness through our monthly members’ boxes, and working with us to promote their products online to our audience of millions.
We also run www.tastecocktails.com - Selling a range of DIY cocktail kits.
Having recently been ranked #1 out of 140 UK subscription businesses for online reach and engagement, we can claim to be industry leaders in online marketing for spirits brands. In an industry that mostly does things the old-fashioned way, we’re giving brands a modern marketing alternative.
We aim to become the best way for people to try new spirits at home, learn about the the story of the people who make the ingredients, mix and taste classic and modern recipes, stock up on their favourites, and find all the equipment they need to turn their kitchen or living room into a fully-functioning home bar!
We are currently looking for the 4th and 5th members of our team, so your role will be hugely varied, but will centre around managing relationships and creating new ones with Gin and Mixer brands, other related companies, retailers, and marketing collaborators.
A key part of our business is promoting Gin and Mixer brands, and with our monthly subscription we need 2-4 deals completed every month. There is then scope for additional partnerships to promote extra products in the box (snacks, additional drinks, etc), online promotions, or collaborations with other subscription boxes, social media influencers, sales channels etc.
As a small company, there is always scope to get involved of all aspects of the business beyond your defined role, and we expect all members of the team to roll up their sleeves and pack boxes when required, but also to take a break and taste some G&Ts when “required” as well!
Duties will include:
Finding new Gin and Mixer brands to feature in our monthly boxes.
Pitching/Selling the ILoveGin model, and striving to achieve the best deal possible.
Managing relationships with existing brand partners, retailers, online sales channels, and other partners.
Finding marketing collaborations and monitoring the agreed promotions.
Using data and analytics to focus on what works best, and track the success of your content and campaigns.
Understand ROI and monitor your own effectiveness, striving to always improve.
Work with the rest of the team to develop the wider business and marketing strategy.
Producing content for various channels, including blogs, video (YouTube), images (social media), email newsletters, guest posting on other websites, etc.
Managing PR relationships with journalists and online influencers.
Creating and running promotional events (tastings, stalls at festivals, launches etc.)
Taste-testing G&Ts and cocktails with the team.
Visiting and reviewing bar launches, drinks events, and distilleries.
We want you to learn as much as you can while working with us, about gin, spirits, cocktails, marketing, and running a startup in general. If you stick with us as we grow and add to the team, there will be a huge opportunity to expand your role, or even to start managing a team of new hires.
There can be a combination of working at our base in London, W6, and occasionally working remotely from home or your favourite coffee shop if you prefer to.
Salary will be competitive, and we will make you an offer based on your previous experience, and may include equity in addition to a decent salary (we believe in paying a good wage for good work, and we want you to feel like a true part of the company as well).
Due to the focus of the job being on arranging brand partnerships that directly affect our profit margins, the overall package will include a performance-based bonus or commission based on the strength of deals closed.
We will provide an apple laptop, company pension scheme, and flexible hours and holiday.
An interest in and passion for gin, cocktails, and spirits in general is our number one priority, but it’s ok if you’re only starting your journey in the drinks world! Our company is all about learning and experimenting with drinks, so we don’t need experts, just enthusiasm.
You are a natural and confident people-person and networker, able to persuade and convince, who can build strong long-term relationships.
You love talking to new people, speak enthusiastically, and are happy spending time on the phone or meeting people in person.
You thrive on the challenge of closing a deal!
You are entrepreneurial, happy to work independently, and prefer to find your own answers when you get stuck than rely on direct guidance.
You have a university degree, or a similar level of relevant experience or education.
You already have a good understanding of sales and business development.
You have 1+ years of experience in a similar or related job.
You have an excellent standard of written English and grammar.
You prefer a Manhattan or Negroni, over a Pornstar Martini or a WooWoo...!
You have worked in the drinks industry, or a tech startup (or both!)
You have previously made or promoted websites or other products online.
You read blogs and online magazines on the topics of drinks, startups, growth hacking, business development, etc.
