As a Data Platform Specialist/Database Administrator at Coeo you will be part of a high performing team who are committed to nurturing our customers’ data solutions and proactively resolving issues to ensure they perform at their peak. We use the latest technologies, and regularly encounter issues that stretch us to innovate by developing custom solutions to solve problems.
Our customers range from small and medium size businesses to household names you’ll recognise.
You’ll support a variety of customer solutions built on:
• Microsoft Data Platform
• Microsoft Azure
• Power BI / Machine Learning
• Windows / Linux
Day to day you’ll be:
• Troubleshooting technical issues and finding the root cause
• Designing, proposing and implementing solutions
• Undertaking performance analysis and tuning
• Proactively assessing our customers’ environments to identify opportunities for improvement
You’ll be able to demonstrate:
Customer service: Having a passion for customer service is as important to us as our technical ability. We’re not just fixing a technical issue; we’re inspiring confidence and removing the threat of system failure.
Communication: It’s a real skill being able to communicate technical issues and solutions. You’ll love painting a picture through your exquisite of use of English using just the right words, spelling and punctuation.
Problem solving: You’ll work in a fast-paced environment with an wealth of diverse issues to investigate and resolve. You’re happiest when unravelling problems to find their root cause and putting them right.
Self-Management: We’re not micro-managers, but we enjoy a bit of juggling! You’ll love working to tight schedules and have the mental agility to balance several jobs at the same time and still manage to smile.
Lifelong learning: Continual learning is a way of life here. You’ll be expected to keep abreast of the latest technology and achieve Microsoft certifications throughout your career.
Technical awareness: We don’t expect you to be an expert on day one, but it will help if you have a technical background in computer science or information technology.

Many of our Data Platform Specialist become Data Platform Principal Engineers, and you’ll also have opportunities to develop within the organisation to become a Consultant for Data Platform, Analytics and Cloud, or to use your technical knowledge to enhance our expert Sales and Marketing team. We know you’ll learn on the job, but we’ll also give you ‘me time’ each week to step back and concentrate on personal and professional development.

The small print
Your starting salary will be £26,500 per year. If you’re required to join the on-call rota in the future, we’ll pay you an extra £8,000 per year. There’s a six-month probation during which you’ll receive in-depth training.
You must have a UK passport or be able to live and work in the UK without employer sponsorship.
