Who we are
At QuantSpark we combine commercial strategy, data modelling and software development to help our clients make smarter decisions. Our small teams of developers and consultants use complex datasets, build bespoke analytical tools and derive meaningful insights, to tackle strategic problems.
We do work for high street retailers, FTSE firms, Private Equity companies - and also do pro-bono work for the United Nations, amongst others, through the QuantSpark Foundation.
What the role is about
As a Test Engineer at QuantSpark, you will verify that the software we create is functioning as expected - mostly through automated testing, with some manual testing as needed. As such, you will clarify and understand expected behaviour, create automated tests for new (and sometimes existing) software, and make sure that the right tests are run at the right time - all as part of the ongoing development process and before and after releases.
QuantSpark being a small and smart company, you will be able to bring in your own expertise and ways of doing things, as well as learning a tremendous amount as part of your work, from colleagues and via training. You will also be able to switch between teams and thus work on a range of projects, including pro-bono ones.
You could eventually take leadership for our testing across projects, become an expert in automated testing, learn more about DevOps and how we manage code deployments, if these are areas of interest to you.

We don’t look for specific academic achievements or levels of experience. Instead we welcome applicants who can show technical ability, creativity, good communications, grit and a desire to learn.
More specifically for this role, you will need the following skills:
Manual testing (writing and running test cases)
Linux / Bash
Code management (Git, Bitbucket)
As a bonus, you would also have experience of the following:

£35k to £55k base salary, based on your profile, plus bonuses
