blue{shift} Business and Marketing Manager

blueshift is looking for a dynamic and organised Business and Marketing Manager who is passionate about children, technology and education. We are a rapidly growing business in a high growth area: your role will be a pivotal one within the organisation helping to both grow our customer and product base and keep the organisation running smoothly on a day to day basis.

Blueshift’s mission is to inspire a broad spectrum of children to code. We want to inspire children ‘look under the hood’ of the technology that surrounds them and empower them to create with code, not just consume technology.

It is essential that applicants for this role are deeply passionate what we do. You will work directly with the Founder of the company and collaborate with the Head of Education. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to really grow with the company and have a real impact in the way we develop; this role could rapidly evolve into a Director of Operations or COO role.

Main duties

Your role will be to both manage the day to day operations of the business (i.e. the smooth running of camps and classes) and grow the business by reaching out to new customers and help refine new products. We are constantly looking for new schools, new areas for camps and different demographics to pitch our classes to. You will also be responsible for much of the marketing strategy for the business.

You will be responsible for the HR function with the business. You will help hire teachers, work on our induction and training processes and help structure employee appraisals. You will also develop a plan for personal growth and mentorship of teachers along with the Head of Education.

Since we are still a relatively small company, this role will be very much ‘hands on’ one. You will manage the day to day operations of the business, ensuring that all classes and camps are staffed appropriately and that all class registers are kept organised.
