As a canvas for creative expression, Pirate Studios believes it is everyone’s right to have around the clock access to high quality music equipment in our innovative spaces, so that live music can continue to flourish and expand, worldwide.
We launched in July, two years ago as the UK’s first self-service music rehearsal studios. Since then the business has grown into 18 buildings across the UK, it has expanded into the US and Germany.
All of our business is driven through our online booking system; however, we're also working on enhancing our customer's experience by integrating more technology into our studios. At Pirate Studios our artists, bands, DJ’s and producers can rehearse 24hrs a day, save their recorded sessions in the cloud, edit, download then share their songs and perform live streams to their fans across the globe.
About the Job
We're looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Digital Project Manager/Product Owner to work as part of our tech team on various projects.
We're looking for someone to work in our Bristol office in Old Market however you may find yourself going to London or onsite once in a while.
Working alongside the current Digital PMs, you will support with the delivery of our exciting live streaming and recording services, new website, mobile app and develop new music related products.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone wanting to apply their Project Management experience and skills in a highly dynamic and exciting industry.
Provide end-to-end project management across the entire project lifecycle to deliver successful projects and support the company’s continued growth.
Apply Project Management methodologies effectively, to design, plan and deliver both Agile and Waterfall projects.
Liaise with stakeholders and developers to gather requirements, and prioritise these effectively.
Contribute to and help coordinate Sprint planning, Retrospectives and demonstrations.
Identify and log all risks, issues and their solutions, to make sure that as a company, we only make mistakes once.
Actively coordinate specific projects and changes, including outlining the user requirements, scoping solutions and delivering the required changes.
Produce project documentation including project briefs, plans and reporting to ensure projects are communicated effectively and expectations are managed.
Devise new processes to meet ever-changing business needs, and assist in their implementation across all involved departments.
Support with the prioritisation and management of our internal IT Helpdesk including maintenance of our task management system (Jira).
Liaise with colleagues to coordinate enhancements, changes and fixes to the website.
Liaise with colleagues to coordinate the installation and maintenance of on onsite technologies, such as CCTV, Internet, room locks, live streaming and recording system.
Investigating and developing new music related products.
Experience planning and delivering projects in a tech/digital environment to required cost, time and quality.
Knowledge and understanding of both Agile/Scrum project and waterfall/Prince2 project management.
Project documentation, reporting and planning with the ability to communicate these to
a variety of stakeholders.
Experience of designing and documenting new processes.
Highly organised, with an ability to multitask on a wide number of ever-changing projects
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrable experience utilising these across all levels of an organisation
Skills and experience in engaging with a range of stakeholders for requirements gathering.
Experience working with an equivalent of Microsoft Office or the Google Suite (particularly Excel / Sheets).
Experience effectively identifying and managing risk.
Solid practical or technical background, with understanding or hands-on experience in IT or Digital Environment.
Willingness to learn and develop.
Enthusiastic with can do attitude and willing to go the extra mile when required.
Experience and knowledge of the role of a Product Owner, with the ability to gather requirements, and prioritise these accordingly.
Experience managing QA and testing.
Project Management Foundation certification (e.g. PRINCE II).
Qualification or training in Agile/Scrum methodologies.
An interest in music, and getting as many people playing as possible!
Business Analysis including Process Mapping and Lean Thinking.
Fluency with JIRA and other project management software.
Experience of using MS Project or equivalent.
Mobile application development experience.
Web development experience.
