Google for Startups (GFS) enables startups to succeed with the best of Google. To support startups, we operate community spaces called Google for Startups Campuses, where entrepreneurs learn, connect, and build companies to change the world. We have Campuses in London, Madrid, São Paulo, Seoul, Tel Aviv, and Warsaw.
Google for Startups is looking for an Events Coordinator. Campuses often host up to five events per day, from mentoring sessions to daylong trainings, to high-profile speakers, to startup launch parties and fundraising dinners. As our Events Coordinator, you will dedicate your attention and efforts to curating and executing high quality events at Campus London and ensuring that our community gains value, connections and education from being a part of the community. You will plan and deliver world-class community engagements and events, including all logistics, coordinate with and manage third parties who host their events at Campus. Work to optimize our user experience including the physical space and continue to find creative ways to contribute to the growth of the wider startup ecosystem.
This is an exciting role in a dynamic, startup setting. We are looking for a person that can handle endless small details to execute flawless events, but also think big enough to set up Campus and its startups for future success.
You will be at the frontlines, helping build and grow a thriving community in collaboration with external organizations and internal Google teams. You are knowledgeable and passionate about entrepreneurship, community-oriented, an operational ninja, and known for getting things done.
Lead events at Campus including logistics, calendar curation and post event evaluations, reporting to our Head of Google for Startups UK, working closely with our Community Manager.
Manage the event application process, considering applications via our CRM ensuring all information on our website is correct and up to date.
Communicate professionally and promptly with third parties who want to host their events at Campus, ensuring the best use of facilities and experience for event hosts and attendees.
Working with the wider Campus team, identify events outside of Campus that would be impactful for our community, and build relationships with prospective event hosts about bringing these opportunities to Campus.
Work with our Marketing Coordinator to build an effective social media plan to promote Campus events
Work with our global team to use a similar tone and "voice" in all marketing efforts, and help nurture a global community cross-Campuses.
Support on budget management, production and logistics.
Support on Google events and programs. Including scheduling, and logistics (supervising catering and AV equipment).
Occasionally work evening hours to support and assist with events.
Extensive experience in a similar event management role.
Self-motivated and articulate, with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Campus welcomes everyone from developers to government ministers, creative founders to journalists; you’ll be friendly, community-first and professional at all times.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to participate on interdepartmental teams.
Ability to work smart in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and ability to think, plan and execute resourcefully.
Ability to report to multiple stakeholders and executives, providing frequent updates and effective communication whilst managing stakeholder expectations.
We’re a small team so you’ll be proactive and comfortable diving in and helping out where needed.
