We’re looking for a Senior Front End Engineer to join our team in Central London and help us modernise and streamline our front end development. We want someone who is passionate about good user experience and excited to improve our tech and help the rest of the team build better interfaces.

You'll be working on building great user experiences, both in adding features to existing products and building all new ones. Some examples of projects we’ve worked on or are currently working on:
Building new tools to help lawyers work more efficiently and to give their clients a better experience. Our aim is to increase access to justice by bringing justice into the digital age
Empowering our users to make sure every CrowdJustice case is successful – work that has real purpose. We know what makes for a successful crowdfund and we’ve got years of data, which has given us ideas for lots of exciting, intelligent tools to build.
Building an online payments tool to make paying your lawyer an easier, less stressful process. Many law firms still only accept payments via BACS or cheque!
Help law firms build a great relationship with their clients. We believe we can help law firms make and keep a great first impression. We’re already helping thousands of people join a case to try to help them escape from being mortgage prisoners.
We are currently a six person product and engineering team (the entire team at Legl will be 16-strong, with you): four full-stack engineers, one designer and one product manager. We have a lean day-to-day process, with few meetings and a focus on working demos rather than huge upfront plans. You’ll be trusted to organise your own work, bringing together the right people to help you build the best product. Things move and change quickly and we need to be agile, so expect some work to be rigorously tested and some experiments...not to be. Mistakes are fine, especially if there's a good story to go with them!
Our tech is optimised to make development fast and to let you focus on building great software. Our dockerised development environment allows us to go from a fresh laptop to a working site in under 20 minutes and our cloud-based hosting and CI lets us get from a development branch to production in under an hour. We’re always looking for ways to streamline and improve our processes and we’re eager to hear your ideas.
You don’t need any particular educational qualifications, we’re more interested in your skills and experience than where you got them.Interview Process
Tech interviews are often stressful so we've designed our interview process to be fair, friendly and responsive. There are no surprise technical questions, and you'll always be prepared for the next stage.
20-30 minute non-technical phone/hangouts chat about the role
3 hour on-site interview where we'll get to know you a bit, you can get to know us and our vision, do some pair programming, work through a product exercise and talk about your future
Final stage is a quick chat with our CEO. That’s it.
