  • Must love games, of any kind

  • Good knowledge of frontend JavaScript techniques

  • Creative and full of visual ideas

  • Happy to be the only visual designer on the team (for now)

Hi, we’re labworks and we’re the leading creator of games for Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.

We’ve just launched Voice Arcade, the world’s first voice gaming subscription, and we’re looking for a great Game Artist + UI Developer to join our team.

Working with our game designers you will come up with visuals to accompany our voice-controlled games, create the assets and then animate them. So you’ll need to be able to design screens as well as have solid JavaScript knowledge - bonus points if you can do digital illustration too. And as we’re a small start up your skills are likely to be used elsewhere, in places like our website - so you’ll need to be up for a pretty varied to-do list.

Also things move pretty quickly in our world and we’re looking for the kind of person who is happy with a fast paced environment, understands the benefit of iteration and is comfortable voicing your opinions around scope, creative design and workload management. Whilst you don’t need to be super experienced, you will need to be comfortable figuring out solutions - on your own and in collaboration with our backend development team.

Most importantly you must love gaming. We don’t mind which games, but how can you work at a gaming company and not like games? The kind of games we make are fun, social games you play with your friends and family on Alexa and Google Assistant.

The whole team is remote at the moment (who isn’t?) and we’ll continue to be remote-first even when things start to change, so we’re happy for this to be a permanently remote role based in the UK - but obviously you’d be welcome in our London office once it re-opens too.

We’ll stop there - keep it short and to the point is what they say, but email [email protected] if you have any questions. If you don’t have experience in everything mentioned above but are really keen to learn and love what we do - please get in touch.

To apply: email [email protected] with a cover letter explaining what makes you great for the role, a CV and some examples of your work.

Salary range £30,000 — 40,000
