As a member of the IT Team reporting into the CTO, the IT manager will lead daily IT Operations and help support the development and delivery of the IT strategy in keeping with the organisation's innovation ambitions.

The IT Manger will be responsible for advising on cloud strategies and implementation of IT infrastructure / cloud projects, IT support functions and managing the incumbent MSP.

Objectives of this Role

  • Maintain essential IT operations, including operating systems (Mac OS & Windows) in conjunction with our MSP, establish security processes & tools (MFA), Maintain email systems, laptops, and respective software

  • Guide on and implement strategic IT cloud service strategies (such as G-Suite vs M365 for example)

  • Own IT projects, solutions and implementations to support business compliance requirements

  • Lead on GDPR, COPPA and Data Security management

  • Handle business-critical IT tasks and systems administration

Daily and Monthly responsibilities:

  • Establish and Oversee the Service Desk, IT infrastructure, and IT Security function – This may utilising an MSP.

  • Introduce service orientated policies and procedures to assist in the delivery of the IT service

  • Drive the further development of Infrastructure architecture, particularly relating to Cloud platforms

  • Maintain an appropriate understanding of all of the organisation's IT systems and infrastructure

  • Regularly report to the CTO and make well-supported business cases for new technologies and change initiatives

The ideal candidate will have experience of an IT leadership role and will be passionate about service excellence, tangible delivery and leading change. This is a hands on role which requires experience in the use and implementation of:

  • G-Suite (Google Drive, Google Docs, Sheets and Slides, Google Forms, Google Sites, Security services (MFA), SSO / Identity management).

  • Microsoft M365 Suite (Outlook, Exchange online, M365 Licencing, One Drive / Sharepoint, Enterprise App, SSO / Identity management)

  • Azure

  • AWS

  • Identity Management

  • Understanding of Financial Management Systems and HR Information Systems (HRIS).

  • Personnel Onboarding and Offboarding processes & Automation

  • ERP

Knowledge & Skills & Personal Qualities:

  • Strong knowledge of Backup, Restore, Recovery and high availability strategies for G-suite,

  • Knowledge of, monitoring and maintaining Microsoft Azure solutions, including major services related to Compute, Storage, Network and Security, Microsoft 365, InTune.

  • Advanced knowledge of DNS, DHCP, Kerberos and Windows Authentication

  • Knowledge of network protocols such as: DNS, SMTP, SNMP, SSH, SFTP

  • Knowledge of Network and TCP/IP routing/subnetting.

  • Knowledge of Cisco network equipment/IOS: routing, switching, and firewalls a plus.

  • Working knowledge of VPN connectivity and client trouble shooting.

  • Experience with Azure AD, Active Directory including managing/maintaining GPOs

  • Strong understanding and background of working with a complex Active Directory, Azure AD, LDAP and the requirement of strictly following standards, procedures, and processes.


Salary range £35,000 — 45,000
