o We are on the hunt for a Mechanical/Design Engineer who will work across all sections of the product development and manufacturing process. You’ll be an all-round expert in design and engineering with strong analytical capabilities. The role will involve developing concepts, iterating and testing ideas using prototyping techniques. As well as exploring new technologies, manufacturing techniques and materials.
We’re a start-up so you’ll be working with all members of the team and get the opportunity to shape the company.
o Responsibility across the whole design process from initial project scoping through to ready for manufacture components.
o Use fast paced, iterative research and prototyping methods to inform ideas.
o Create detailed part, assembly designs and drawings using 3D CAD tools.
o Develop testing strategies and execute testing of complex systems and products.
o Analyse data to inform decisions.
o Communicate complex ideas effectively to the entire team.
o Immerse yourself in the product and tech scene to ensure Felcana remains at the cutting edge.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
o A 2:1 degree or better within Industrial design, mechanical or manufacturing engineering
o Understanding of electronic product development, connected device development, wearable technology, or medical device development.
o A strong knowledge of manufacturing techniques and a broad understanding of material properties and manufacturing processes related to common engineering materials
o Analytically smart, comfortable with data and can use it to inform decisions
o Strong “design-for-manufacture” mentality to deliver cost effective, high performance, reliable designs for low to high volumes
o Experience in Solidworks or Pro-Engineer
o Ambition, tenacity, and self-starting with the ability to identify creative new approaches

Salary range £20,000 — 30,000
