EQUITY-X won the first prize at Startup Grind Europe 2017, executed a data agreement with S&P Global in 2018 and announced the providership with BT Radianz for global secure distribution in capital markets in 2020. EQUITY-X is actively looking for a web developer with a strong entrepreneurial spirit to develop an e-commerce website for mobile, tablet and desktop and deploy on WordPress.  

Job description
EQUITY-X requires a web developer to implement designs into mobile, tablet and desktop websites and work with CEO, CTO and/or a designer to ensure the design quality in the websites so that we can shape the contents to attract finance professionals, obtain quality leads from the company websites and generate sales by using a payment gateway (e.g., Stripe). 

Specific duties:
- Developing mobile, tablet and desktop websites;
- Writing efficient, testable and reusable codes in React, PHP, JavaScript, HTML and CSS and libraries for future use;
- Documenting codes so that CTO and other developers can understand and contribute;
- Designing the architecture of the websites and the components;
- Creating, modifying and integrating responsive templates in WordPress from scratch;
- Translating high fidelity wireframes to visual elements;
- Working with a designer to convert the designs into functional and creative CSS;
- Implementing the designs into websites;
- Determining and installing the best plug-ins and applications to provide websites with new features and functionality;
- Integrating Stripe payment gateway into the websites;
- Building databases and integrating data, graphics and videos from various back-end services and the databases;
- Setting up WordPress in AWS server (i.e. installation, administration and configuration);
- Applying SEO;
- Optimising the application for maximum speed and scalability;
- Implementing security and data protection;
- Suggesting ideal contents which are suitable for B-to-B business in financial services;
- Implementing contingency plans in case the websites go down;
- Testing websites in different browsers (e.g., Google Chrome and Firefox) and environments;
- Testing the websites, identifying issues and fixing bugs as necessary;
- Ensuring legibility and quality is carried across all viewports;
- Communicating with CEO, CTO and/or a designer to develop and deploy the contents;
- Reporting to CEO on a daily basis; and
- Handing the completed deliverables to us.

Key requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in web development (mobile, tablet and desktop)
- Experience setting up, developing and deploying WordPress websites
- Experience using WordPress plugins (e.g., automatic backup, spam prevention and newsletter signup)
- Experience integrating the Stripe payment gateway
- Knowledge of React, JavaScript and PHP for dynamic sections of the websites
- Excellent knowledge of HTML and CSS to create responsive templates

- Knowledge of web servers (nginx and apache)

- Understanding of differences between multiple delivery platforms, and optimizing output to match the specific platform

- Knowledge of image authoring tools

- Ability to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on images
- Team player

- Attention to detail

- Passion and enthusiasm for elegant, aesthetic, and dynamic websites
- Portfolio which demonstrates your ability to create mobile, tablet and desktop websites for finance professionals
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related

Nice to have:
- Ability to implement automated testing platforms and unit tests

- SEO experience and knowledge
- Hands-on experience with network diagnostics and network analytics tools

- Experience with database systems such as SQL

- Experience developing mobile, tablet and desktop websites for FinTechs and/or financial institutions

- Experience working with designers

- Good time-management skills

- Good interpersonal and communication skills

- Proven track record of web design with great conversion rates

Salary range £24,000 — 48,000
